What is PCOS?

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is a hormonal imbalance that affects nearly one in ten women of childbearing age. It results in enlarged ovaries with small cysts on the outer edges, usually caused by the excess production of male hormones. This often leads to missed period due to disruption of hormones that help release the egg and difficulties in conceiving.

PCOS is also known to cause excessive facial and body hair growth, diabetes, and heart problems in the long-term. It most commonly affects women in the 15 – 44 age groups. Some symptoms of the disorder are:

  • Weight gain or difficulty in losing weight
  • Infertility
  • Acne
  • Irregular menstrual cycle
  • Hirsutism (facial hair)
  • Male pattern baldness

 Ideal Diet for PCOS

PCOS requires certain diet modifications to reduce excess weight and induce regular periods. What is perhaps most important is the management of one’s insulin blood levels. Patients must avoid refined foods since they cause a spike in blood insulin levels, leading to a worsening of symptoms. Foods with low glycaemic loads and anti-inflammatory fruits like pineapple, pomegranate must be included in one’s daily diet.

 Exercise for PCOS

Moderate exercises like brisk walking, jogging, cycling, and swimming are helpful in dealing with PCOS. These types of exercises increase sensitivity to insulin and mitigate hormonal imbalance by modifying basal metabolism rate. Exercising for 30 minutes or more daily helps keep weight under control. Chances of developing cardiovascular issues and type-2 diabetes are also greatly reduced along with relief from symptoms of anxiety and depression.

How cold-pressed juices help PCOS patients:

Cold-pressed juices have a demonstrated effect in the treatment of PCOS and a reduction in the symptoms. Vegetables and fruits are loaded with antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, phytochemicals, and enzymes that aid in the regulation of blood sugar, increased red blood cells count, and improve hormonal and brain function. 100% organic, cold pressed juice is a natural way to boost one’s vitals and supplement the body with essential vitamins and minerals. Prepared using hydraulic presses that enhance nutritional value while maintaining the fruit’s original vitamin content as well as taste, these juices are an easy way for a PCOS patient to maintain good health. Moreover, you can drink cold pressed juices on the go and save time! Thus, these juices are an easy yet effective option for busy professionals to keep their PCOS troubles in check.
